Google-Motorola Deal: Signaling “Free Phones”?
Google’s recent acquisition of Motorola Mobility seemed like buying patent protection. However, some theorize that the hardware end of the spectrum is just as important. The purchase may give Google the ability to offer free or subsidized phones, and at the very least would allow a “Google” lineup of phone models.
